Registration of Accepted university or college: November 8, 2022 to April 2023

Application screening: As required after January 2023

Interview: Mid-March 2023Mid Februaty to Mid March 2023 the details will be informed later.

Announcement of acceptance: Late March 2023

  • The date and place of the interview will be notified separately.
  • Applicants who did not pass the first period of the screening will be considered again for the second period. (It is not necessary to re-apply.)
  • However, only score changes will be accepted.

  • The above schedule is only a tentative schedule. It is subject to change depending on the number of applicants.
  • Transportation and other expenses associated with the interview may be covered; please contact SPF for details

Documents to be submitted

  1. Essay
    Please submit the following essays
    • An essay in English that has been sent or will be sent to the university or college to which you applied and that you feel expresses you well (in English, one essay, no limit on number of words)
    • What made you decide to study abroad and what kind of future you hope to achieve through studying abroad (Japanese, 400-800 characters)
    • Points you would like to emphasize about yourself or what you would like to tell us about yourself (Japanese, 200 characters)
  2. Academic performance
    • GPA while in high school (converted to a U.S.-style 4.00 scale, or if you converted it yourself, please indicate the basis for this conversion)
    • TOEFL-iBT or IELTS, and SAT, ACT or IB scores, English proficiency test, etc. (only if you have one)
    Points to note
    • Incomplete applications disqualify you from consideration.
    • Please be sure to check your entries. Incomplete data input has been reported frequently.
    • Applications received after the due date will not be accepted.
    • A letter of recommendation is not required. If you do wish to send one, please send it directly from the recommender to the following address.
